Tying down the canes

After deadheading, which entails to cup vine shoots to keep 8
buds on one or two branches, it is time to tie down the canes. This activity,
started from March 20, will last until the end of the month. It involves to
bend the branch, which is holder of producer buds, to envelop it and to hook it
on wires. The goal is to give the possibility to the vine to flower properly,
staying neatly spaced and aerated during the growing season.

It was under a wonderful sun (more than 26°C), on a plot of two
hectares located on the opposite slope of the Domaine, that our wine-grower
Bernard (on the left side) and our winemaker Francois (on the right side)
explained to the new-company assistance Audrey how to manage it.

The next step will be treatment of vineyard, which should start
in the following weeks.
